jane austin first edition date inside book is 1811?
i have came across this book and wondered if anyone can tell me if it is worth anything or who i should take it to, it is slightly damaged to the spine, but it is readable, on the front cover os a gold crest of a stag standing on a crown with the letter JA underneath it. Thanks
A true first edition of Jane Austen (her first published work, Sense and Sensibility was published in 1811) would be very valuable. I believe the book was published in three volumes though. If you have a one volume copy, it isnt the first edition -- you may just have a later edition stating the original publication or copyright date.
