Old camera flash with new Canon Eos 550D?
Hi,
I have an external flash Londa Twin Flash AP808SS. Its quite an old type. Can I use it on my Canon EOS 550D? The flash is 100% ok and it fires the flash when i press the red flash button in the flash itself, and recharge again.
I heard that old type of flash uses very high voltage each time they fire, and afraid it might not be compatible to my Canon 550D DSLR. It has hot shoe with single pin at center..
i heard some device called "HOT SHOE OFF CAMERA EXTERNAL FLASH ADAPTER" or "VOLTAGE-ISOLATED HOT SHOE ADAPTER" or some sort of PC Sync cable to sync camera flash with my camera trigger..... Can these devices helpful to me..

Why spend $$$$ on a good camera to use an old cheapo bargain basement flash?
Any chain is only as strong as the weakest link - your photos will only be as good as the worst piece of kit you are using to produce it.
Once you have experienced the Canon Speedlites with E-TTL you will never go back! They just plug and play! Give great results and, compared to what you paid for the camera and lenses, a 430EX is not so expensive.
