Machine to machine communication is a process to enable the flow of data from one stage to another and then through a gateway to a system, from where it can be accessed and reviewed. M2M basically refers to the capability to communicate with wireless or wired devices of same ability.
Machine to machine communication uses wireless technologies to interact with the other machine such as in the case of a speed measuring system where a traffic policeman get to know your speed from a distance.
M2M involves communication in two ways:
â One way: In this case, one machine behaves as a master and other as a slave; only one of them can transmit signals. For example; Television Set and remote control.
â Two ways: In two ways, both the machine participates equally in the process of communication or say transmission of signal.
In a software development company M2M involves digital technology in for most of the stages. It uses meters and sensors that transmit signals to a computer or other devices via radio technology. Basic stages that are covered by many of the M2M applications are the following:
1) Collection of the basic and essential data or information.
2) Transmission of collected and sorted out data through a communication network or channel.

There are various applications of the machine to machine communication such as:
1) Since every thing is wirelessly connected in case of M2M networks, this interconnection can serve to improve production, capability and efficiency. For example, a machine that is used for building cars can be modified so as to let the developers of products know when the certain products needs to be taken in for maintenance and when the material needs to be checked.
2) Wireless technology can be used to track and monitor systems, such as utility meters. This would enable the owner of the meter to know if the meter has been tampered with.
3) Data positioning and global monitoring systems.
4) Street lamp monitoring system.
5) M2M can be used on digital billboards, by which an active advertisers can change the message of the billboard as per the time of the day.

Wireless remote slave/master flashes for Canon Rebel EOS T1i?
I'm looking at getting some wireless flashes for my canon and i really don't know where to start..
I want basically this..
Two wireless flashes that i can move around to anywhere that trigger when i press my shutter.
I dont really know much about them, i know canon makes a 430 and a 580 maybe??
Can someone tell me what two wireless flashes i should get and how they get connected onto my canon t1i. I heard i may have to get like a pocket wizard to connect onto my hot shoe to trigger the wireless-ness or something..
Idk, im a noob when it comes to flash but i thought it was something i wanted to get into.
There are several ways to do this. None of them are cheap, but some are less expensive than others.
If you want the camera to control the flashes in TTL (through the lens) metering mode (Canon calls it E-TTL II) then you would have to buy at last 2 Canon EX flashes and 1 ST-E2 controller. You could use two Canon 430EX flashes for this, plus the controller, the set would be something like $700-$800. If you use Canon 580EX flashes, then it comes out to $1,000 or more. The 580EX can act as the control unit for another EX flash off camera, so you only need the 2 flashes this way. However, 1 of them has to be on the camera to make it work. The ST-E2 is an infrared control unit that sends instructions to the flash heads on when to fire, and with how much power as determined by the camera.
The Pocket Wizard route is different, in that this is not a TTL system. All the PW units do is tell the slave flashes when to fire. For this to work, you need 1 PW transceiver on the camera, and 1 for each flash. Pocket Wizards are about $185 each, you need 3. Plus you also need flashes, but you can use much simpler, and less costly, flash units this way. You have to set the power yourself, the camera won't even know there are flashes in use. You can do the same thing with much cheaper EBay chinese stuff, the only major difference is that pocket wizards claim a usable range of 1,500 feet. Most of the Ebay stuff is only good for 50 or so. That's usually plenty.
